Compare the Volkswagen Atlasto the Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade

Compare the 2021 Volkswagen Atlas to the Hyundai Palisade and Kia Telluride at Ciocca Volkswagen of State College!

Choosing the right kind of three-row SUV requires some careful research to ensure you get the perfect fit for your family. You pick an SUV for its versatility, roomy passenger space, configurable cargo area, and design perfect for any way you want to drive. The new Volkswagen Atlas stands out in its segment, thanks to a variety of technology, safety, and comfort features available throughout the lineup. Even when matched up to the competition from Hyundai and Kia, it's easy to see why we love the 2021 Atlas. See how they compare down below and find out which model suits you best.

Volkswagen Atlas vs. Hyundai Palisade

Right off the bat, the Atlas presents itself as the more affordable option. The Palisade is about $1,000 more than the base Atlas, even though both models offer similar features, comfort, and convenience for their drivers. The Volkswagen SUV also offers features like Volkswagen Car-Net®, a handy mobile app that provides you command of your vehicle from the convenience of your smart device and IQ.DRIVE, an advanced Drivers Assistance Technology that features the hands-on semi-autonomous capability to help you navigate the road ahead. The Palisade offers numerous innovations, but it lacks either of the two conveniences presented in the Atlas.

If you're looking to pack the interior to the brim, the Volkswagen Atlas is the more accommodating option of the two. The Palisade offers up to 86.4 cubic feet of storage, requiring you to fold down the second and third rows to achieve this amount. The Atlas is the more spacious of the two, with up to 96.8 cubic feet of storage. Even with all three rows occupied, the Volkswagen SUV offers up to 20.6 cubic feet of trunk space - the Palisade barely makes 18 cubic feet.

Volkswagen Atlas vs. Kia Telluride

Again, the Atlas winds up being the more affordable option between two three-row SUVs, starting at $31,545. The Kia Telluride is large and powerful, but you'll need to pay $31,990 for its base model - $500 more than you'll need for the Volkswagen SUV. You can upgrade your Atlas with features that include a wireless smartphone charger, the Volkswagen Car-Net® Hotspot, a Panoramic Sunroof, full-screen navigation, and so much more! While the Palisade offers many of the same features, you'll find that you'll need to pay more to enjoy them.

The Volkswagen Atlas comes equipped with a choice of two different engine options. The base engine is a 2.0-liter inline-four cylinder turbocharged engine. You can also upgrade to a V6 if you want a bit more power and speed for your travels. The Telluride limits you to one engine option, but it's a powerful V6, so neither SUV will leave you feeling like you're missing out on a quick ride. However, the Telluride is only capable of equipping the V6, limiting it to an EPA-estimated 20 mpg in the city. Thanks to the turbocharged 2.0-liter engine under the hood, the Atlas is just a bit more efficient, offering up to 21 mpg while driving through the city.
